PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT

 I WILL:

1.      Encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches and officials at every game, practice, or other youth sports event.

2.      Place the emotional and physical well-being of my child ahead of a personal desire to win.

3.      Insist that my child play in a safe and healthy environment.

4.      Support coaches and officials working with my child, to encourage a positive and enjoyable season.

5.      Do my best to have my child enjoy the youth sports experience by doing whatever I can, such as being a respectful fan, assist with coaching and have my child at all scheduled practices and games on time and ready to participate.

6.      Lead by example in demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship to my child.

7.      Respect all players, adults, and officials. I understand that profanity, degrading, or disrespectful remarks or actions directed towards players, officials, staff or spectators will not be tolerated.

8.      Refrain from all physical violence and verbal abuse. This includes actions directed at members of my own family.

9.      I will not criticize the officials. I understand that it is the coach’s responsibility to speak to the official respectfully to dispute a call. Unbecoming conduct by coaches, players and parents directed at officials may result in a forfeited game.

10. Provide a sports environment that is FREE of drugs, tobacco (smoking, dipping, or chewing), and alcohol, and I will refrain from their use while participating in MCSA events. This includes practices, games, tournaments, etc.

11.  I’ll do my very best to make youth sports fun for my child.

12. Ask my child to treat other players, coaches, fans and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed or ABILITY.

13. Remember we are here for the CHILDREN, it is just a GAME, the coaches are VOLUNTEERS, the officials are HUMAN and this is NOT the World Series or the Super Bowl!

Any parent who fails to adhere to the above policies and guidelines will be given a warning and may be suspended or banned from attending MCSA programs. MCSA will investigate reported incidents and will act on the findings of the investigation. All MCSA decisions will be final. By registering your child to participate you agree to this policy.
